Dr. Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann was born on 1958 in Düsseldorf and is member of Germany’s Federal Parliament (Bundestag) for the Free Democrats Parliamentary Group. From 2008-2014, she was First Mayor of Düsseldorf. 2013-2019, she was Deputy Federal Chairwoman of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP). Since 2019, she is member of the Federal Executive Board of the FDP. She is spokeswoman for defence policy and local politics of the Free Democrats Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag. She is a member of the Defence Committee, the Committee on Construction, Housing, Urban Development and Municipalities and is a alternate member of the Home Affairs Committee. Strack-Zimmermann studied publicism, politics and German studies in Munich. Before politics, she has worked in a leading position for a Nuremberg publishing house.
