Social Justice Entrepreneur & Strategist
Jocelyn R. McDaniel is a Social Justice Entrepreneur & Strategist who cares deeply about education equity, eliminating the racial wealth gap and accountable & responsive public leadership. She has dedicated her career to bringing about systemic and equitable change to marginalized communities. She is the Founder of Beyond Inclusion, a full service organizational development consultant firm where she specializes in systems thinking through an equity lens to help her clients reach their bold and ambitious visions to achieve impact. She is currently a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategist/ Fellow with the Democracy Fund, a philanthropic foundation working to ensure that our political system is able to withstand new challenges and deliver on its promise to the American people. She has a decade of experience working in the education reform space and has held many roles spanning from classroom teacher to systems level leadership with the most recent being Director, Federal Funding for Teach For America. In this role, she oversaw a portfolio of 5 multi-million dollar federal grants and focused on providing fiscal, programmatic and evaluation support. She strives to be the perfect balance of head and heart as she leads with both intellectual rigor and compassionate empathy. In addition her board work as the institute Co-Chair with New Leaders Council DC, she also sits on the boards of Harvard Black Alumni Society-DC and PRISM DMV. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science & Communications from the University of Arkansas and a Masters Degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University.
